The ‘North Pole Stroll’ is already taking reservations for sponsored trees for decorating in Big Springs Memorial Park. The 5’ to 6’ trees are donated by Lowes of Athens and sponsored by businesses, organizations, non-profits and individuals for $100. This is a ‘green event’ with the use of only solar lighting and non-breakable ornaments. You can purchase the solar supplies at Lowes by looking for “North Pole Stroll Friendly” stickers on the shelves. Trees should be available after Thanksgiving for decorating in the park. We are willing to assist in matching a non-profit to decorate with a sponsor, if possible. You may purchase your tree online at www.AthensNorthPoleStroll.com and click the ‘sponsor a tree’ tab. You may also come to the Athens-Limestone Tourism Office located at 100 N. Beaty Street (beside the duck pond) to pay by cash or check. We will have a kick-off on December 3 for everyone to come out and enjoy the trees with hot chocolate, music and Santa may even make a visit!
