‘Tis the season to be jolly…well, first because Thanksgiving is almost here, but also because we have several Christmas season events on the calendar.

On December 1, the Athens-Limestone Public Library Foundation will be hosting a Christmas Soiree at the home of Monya and Mitch Claborn (1808 Lindsay Lane South in Athens) starting at 6:00 p.m. Admission is $75.00 for this exclusive event. Tickets are limited and will be on sale at the Library (603 South Jefferson Street in Athens) or online at ALCPLFoundation.org

A popular event is the Athens North Pole Stroll, which is a display of live cut Christmas Trees located in the Big Spring Memorial Park (AKA ‘the Duck Pond’ at 100 North Beaty Street). Make plans to bring family and friends to visit the park and stroll through the beautifully decorated trees and Christmas scenes from December 1-30. For more info call 256-232-5411

Christmas Then and Now at Calvary Epicenter (4839 Calvary Boulevard in Tanner) will be December 1-3. Come experience the magic of “Now” and the majesty of “Then!” For over 20 years people from all across North Alabama and the surrounding areas have counted Christmas Now & Then as one of their favorite family traditions. For tickets and info look for the link on our website events page at visitathensal.com.

Christmas parades are as follows: Elkmont, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m.; Ardmore, Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m.; Athens, Dec.7 at 6:30
