Press Release

Today the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office rolled out the second phase of a three-phase information technology project that we have been developing for the last several years. This morning we moved into a Computer Aided Dispatch system that has been developed and tailored specifically for Limestone County. It will also share data across the same platform with the Jail Management System that we implemented last year, and the Records Management System that is being developed.

The new CAD system will replace numerous pen-and-paper duties the dispatchers have routinely conducted through the years with an electronic command and control system they will constantly monitor real-time. With the enhancements and mapping, every call should be dispatched in 45 seconds or less. We will soon be adding Automatic Vehicle Location to all our patrol vehicles so they too, can be monitored real time as they respond to calls throughout the county. This will also extend the writing of reports to the field through the mobile data terminals in the cars.

This system is very user friendly and the training this week has resulted in a seamless transition for our employees and data systems alike. The features of the systems will enhance our mission and will increase efficiency for our dispatchers and deputies alike. The result will be getting the right help to the right place in the quickest time for all our citizens, and saving all the relevant data in the process.

The company that developed the software is Application Data Systems, Inc. (ADSi) and they are based in Southaven, MS. They have been developing software for law enforcement, courts, fire, EMS, and the US Military for over 30 years. Joel House, CEO of ADSi remarked “We are proud the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office went live this morning with CAD as we add another module to their system. We look forward to going online with their next phase for Records Management by the end of the year. Sheriff Blakely has helped us in development by sharing the specific needs of today’s sheriff’s office and the unique responsibilities they face every day. By incorporating those needs we believe we have developed the most thorough software product on the market today for sheriffs across this Country.”
