Learning As A Lifestyle – The First Weeks of Camps 2019

We are excited to offer Summer Camps again this year at the Athens State University Center for Lifelong Learning. Complete information is available on our website – www.athens.edu/CLL – or call us at 256-233-8260 to register. This is just the first two weeks of camps.

ARCHERY CAMP LEVEL 1: Start your summer with us learning everything you’ve ever wanted to know about archery! This camp will focus on form, shooting, aiming techniques, range safety, eye dominance, equipment maintenance, and how to set up a shooting range. Snacks will be provided each day. On Day 5, there will be an archery tournament for campers to compete among themselves, and lunch will be provided to the campers. Level I Camp is scheduled June 3–7, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Carter Gym on the Athens State Campus. The fee is $139/camper.

ARCHERY CAMP LEVEL II: This camp is a continuation from Level I Archery. Campers will experience advanced emphasis in the areas of form, shooting, and aiming techniques. Snacks will be provided each day. On Day 5, there will be an archery tournament for campers to compete among themselves, and lunch will be provided to the campers. Prerequisite: Archer Camp – Level I. LEVEL II Camp is scheduled June 10-14, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Carter Gym on the Athens State Campus. The fee is $139/camper. Recommended ages: 9-13 years.

DR. SEUSS STEM CAMP: One brick, two brick, red brick, blue brick! Come have fun with Dr. Seuss STEM. We will have different STEM challenges based off Dr. Seuss’ classic books. Build a tower for Yertle, have a Butter Battle, play with Oobleck, and much more! Great camp for kids who love to create and build. Camp scheduled June 3-6, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Fee is $119/camper. Recommended ages: 8-12 years.

SUPER SITTER CAMP: Topics to be covered by a panel of experts: safety, which includes weather and 911; behavioral challenges; basic first aid and choking; and age appropriate activities, toys, and snacks. Camp is scheduled June 10-14, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Fee is $59/camper. Recommended age: 10-17 years. A second camp will be offered July 8-12, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Recommended ages: 10-17 years.

LET’S HAVE A FOOD FITE COOKING CAMP: Campers will learn how to properly store food, how to work with a variety of kitchen utensils, and how to prepare a delicious meal that feeds up to 4 people (which will be taken home with them each day)! Camp is scheduled June 10-13, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria of Sandridge Hall, on the Athens State campus. Fee is $129/camper. Recommended ages: 8-14 years.
