If you want success, you need to feel it deep inside your gut. You need to see yourself achieving the success in your mind. You need to breathe the air and know you are going to have success. Everything about you needs to radiate the success you are going to achieve. When you believe in yourself, you will begin to surprise yourself and start to gain momentum. Our problem in the world today is we have too many people who want to think negatively and do not know how to think positively.
In fact, I would say it has always been this way where too many people thinking negatively. The difference we have today is that so many people are medicated and doped up that even if they wanted to think positive thoughts, they could not because they cannot feel anything due to what doctors are prescribing. The world I grew up in is much different than the world my girls are growing up in today, and it seems that everyone is the victim.
We need to stop the victim mentality and begin to look at ways out. We need to start looking for that light at the end of the tunnel. It seems our society is growing bleaker and bleaker, but the truth of the matter is we live in a time in which many things are thriving. The economy is thriving, business is booming, yet we still cannot get over our negativity hump when it comes to our attitudes.
My suggestion for anyone struggling with their attitude and mood is very simple. I pride myself on the attitude and approach I take, and I believe it starts with the beginning of our day. From the moment you wake up, I believe it is important for you to decide right then you are going to have a good day. Go ahead and decide before you get out of bed that you are going to make today be an important day. Immediately, you are already off on the right path to changing your attitude.
The next important step is to get your mindset right. A lot of times people want to listen to music, talk radio, or sports on their drive in to work; instead, use this as a time to reflect about how your day is going to go. Instead of listening to the negativity of the world of politics, plan out how you are going to thrive today. This is important because many times we get our emotions and our attitudes worked up over things that are beyond our control. If the name Pelosi or Trump evokes a change in your attitude, you probably do not need to be listening to the radio or watching television if you are trying to change your attitude to a positive mindset.
I believe the next step is the most crucial. The number one question people ask every day is, “How are you doing?” The answer you give is the most crucial step in how your attitude is going to go. Many times, we answer with words, such as “Good” or “Fine”; but instead we need to expand our vocabulary for answers this question. The next time someone asks you how you are doing, I want you to reply, “Excellent.” Talk about changing a person’s day! You will get a variety of responses because people are not accustomed to hearing this kind of answer.
Using the word, Excellent is going to take some work because you are going to want to fall back in the old habit of saying, “I’m good” or “I’m okay”; but keep using the word Excellent. Before too long, you will notice your mood and your attitude start to change. It took me several weeks to get this concept down, and I will give credit where credit is due. Jeff Hamm, a successful business owner in Athens, is the person who got me to change my response to how I am doing.
Talk about being an attitude changer — telling people you are excellent when they are just okay; you are going to feel so much better. You may be saying, “But I don’t feel excellent.” I get that and, in the beginning, neither did I. But you know what they say about a lie — if you tell a lie enough times and make it believable, it will eventually become the truth. So eventually, you will feel excellent. And you will find your attitude changing if you just put into practice what you have here read today.,br>
