Community Breakfast – Science Meets Faith – Learning As A Lifestyle

By: Wanda Campbell

Join us at Athens State University Center for Lifelong Learning on June 28 for the presentation, Science Meets Faith-One Small Look at God’s Vast Universe, by Jim Odom. Mr. Odom is retired from a very distinguished career at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center where, among other responsibilities, he was the Director of Science and Engineering, Project Manager of the Hubble Space Telescope, and also served on the Space Shuttle Team and Apollo Project. In this discussion of “Science Meets Faith,” Mr. Odom vividly outlines the ways in which the laws of astrophysics merge with God’s laws in an expansive universe from which we are still learning. See actual NASA photographs from parts of the universe yet to be explored, and hear how those extragalactic components tie in with Creation.

Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. in the mezzanine of the Center for Lifelong Learning, followed by Mr. Odom’s presentation. The event is free and open to the public. If you have any accessibility needs or concerns, please contact us at cll@athens.edu or via phone at (256) 233-8260.
