Calling All Bag Ladies!!! And Men, Too
By: Jackie Warner
Hello and Merry Christmas to you this holiday season. I am sending you all well wishes and blessings for this season and the upcoming new year! So, as we close this year out, I would like to leave you with two thoughts:
#1
As we go into 2019, don’t and I repeat, don’t take all those bags you’ve got because if you do, you are going to continue hurting yourself and missing opportunities. Stop carrying all the people, the hurt, drama, and life events — pack light. If you have not heard the song “Bag Lady” by Erykah Badu, then find it online and listen to the lyrics and you will know where I am speaking from.
Lyrics Excerpt: Bag Lady- Erykah Badu
Bag lady you gone hurt your back, Dragging all them bags like that
I guess nobody ever told you, All you must hold onto, is you, is you, is you
“One day all them bags gon’ get in your way, so pack light, pack light, mm, pack light, pack light, oh ooh Bag lady you gon’ miss your bus, You can’t hurry up, ’cause you got too much stuff” – Let it go, Let it go, Let it go…
#2
The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. Matt 6:22-23
How fast we get caught up in looking at things we love, or may think we need to see. So, watch where we lay our eyes. Be careful in this life to not find yourself trying to get a glimpse of all the evil. The purpose of our lamp has not changed; it provides light to dispel the darkness. Shine brightly and don’t let your lamp be dimmed.
Until Next Time, Be Sincere, Kind and Intentional
