Nov 15th — 1st Annual Cystic Fibrosis Walk-Golden Eagle Stadium, Athens High School, 100 U.S. Highway 31N, Athens, AL. Join the ALH Respiratory and Imaging Department for Great Strides and hot dogs, drinks, balloon release and more fun activities. This will not be a 5k walk. November 21-November 30– The Donnell House will be once again hosting its Festival of Trees celebration. The theme to this year’s event is “To Grandmother’s House We Go.” The Festival of Trees will run from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and will be open on Thanksgiving evening as well as during the Athens Christmas Open House. The cost for admission is $5 per person. To kick off the event, a Preview Party is scheduled on November 20 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. The cost for the party is $25 per person and will include refreshments and entertainment, along with a sneak peak of the decorations. For reservations, call 256-679-7660. All money raised will go to the renovation efforts for the historic Donnell House.
Nov 22nd — Minor Hill Turkey Shoot-Minor Hill Park Ag-Grounds, Minor Hill Highway, Minor Hill, TN. Minor Hill, Tennessee invites you to join them for their annual Turkey Shoot the Saturday before Thanksgiving, as always. It will start at 9:00AM, and will go until about noon. It costs $3 to shoot for a turkey, and $5 to shoot for a ham. Plans are to shoot for a chance to win a ham about every 5 times or so. It’s not a country ham each time, most of them are regular hams.
