The Indorama Ventures-sponsored BIG Cash For Trash Challenge is on! This great opportunity to perform a community service also enters participants into a drawing for some BIG cash prizes, including $1,000, $500, $200, $100 and more!
Because of COVID-19, KALB had to postpone the challenge, which began on March 14th. We have been given the green light to restart the program.
Individuals and groups may participate; however, group names will be entered into the drawing once for each ½ mile cleanup, not each individual volunteer.
To be included in the drawing, register to clean up a 1/2 mile section of roadway in Limestone County, perform your cleanup, and let KALB know when it’s done. Once the cleanup is verified, your name goes into a drawing for the BIG CASH prizes! The more ½ mile sections of roadway cleaned, the more chances volunteers have to win! Volunteers must register for each ½ mile they intend to clean up.
The deadline for participation is August 28, 2020.
KALB will provide trash bags, gloves, safety vests, and litter grabbers.

All cleanups that were registered and completed before the program was placed on hold will qualify for the drawing. However, you must register again for any area that you registered to clean up but did not complete.
Indorama Ventures Sustainable Solutions, the company sponsoring this challenge, is located in Athens, Alabama. The Athens plant creates material for manufacturers from recycled plastics, helping to minimize PET waste sent to landfills. All plastics recycled at the Athens-Limestone Recycling Center are sold to Indorama Ventures and used to create the flakes and pellets used to manufacture new products.
