3rd Annual Col Sam Gibbons Memorial Walking Horse Show
July 19th 2014 To Benefit The Alabama Veterans’ Museum Expansion Project
The third annual Col. Sam Gibbons Memorial Walking Horse Show is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th, at the Limestone County Sheriff’s Arena on Alabama 99.
The show is sponsored by the Alabama Veterans’ Museum with the assistance of Ken Wilson of the Southeastern Saddle Club. All proceeds will benefit the museum expansion project. Come on out and bring the whole family for a night of FREE entertainment.
The Veterans’ Museum is in need of a larger space to display the many military items that have been donated in memory of our local veterans. These possessions and the remembrances they instill are irreplaceable and must be carefully displayed with honor and dignity. In order to do this, the museum must develop a more spacious section to use as an education development resource for our children and as a commemoration of our past.
This year’s event will accommodate riders of all levels as well as pleasure horses, racking horses, and the world famous Tennessee Walking Horse. The show will have a lead-line class for children as well as a stick horse class.
The show will start at 5PM, with the gates opening at 4PM. There will be full concessions including hamburgers, hotdogs, and Arby’s roast beef and chicken sandwiches. If you have not seen a Tennessee Walking Horse in action, don’t miss this chance to see this one for free!
If you would like to participate in this show, sponsor a class, or just come out and enjoy one of the most majestic animals in the world, contact the museum 256.771.7578 for more information
